My Loyal & Trusted Companion
A True Friend

DOOGIE
1996 - Sept. 21, 2007

Dear Doogie,

Do you remember that day in late August of 2003 when I was called to come get you?  I'll never forget that day. When I first saw you it was obvious to see that your spirit had been broken and that your body had endured things no dog should have to.  That day I felt so lucky to have been chosen as your Mama. I nursed you back to health and gave you more love that your little body could take.

Doogie, you were loved by everyone who met you.  You weren't just my Doogie, you were everyone's Doogie with your Eeyore ways. Those dark brown eyes, huge floppy ears, you were so adorable.  You were my funny
"old man" as I called you with your crooked smile and bowed legs.  You were truly the most unique and precious canine to walk this earth.

We all know that our time on earth can't last forever.  There comes a time when we must let go of the ones we love and it was your time baby.  I could not bare to see you in pain and I knew I had to do what was right for you.  As I held you in the end, I knew it was right, you were at peace.

Doogie, be free...run the glorious fields of Rainbow Bridge, smell the green grass and flowers, chase rabbits and butterflies....let that one of a kind howl be heard!  Be happy, be free of  pain my angel.

One day you will look up with those big brown eyes and I'll be there on the bridge and we'll be together again.

I will miss you always, my precious beagle,

Love Mama
